Gener8
A first-of-its-kind browser extension that lets users profit from the ads they see. I was brought in as the sole designer to turn a genuinely novel proposition into something simple enough to download and trust.
The challenge
A genuinely novel product entering a crowded and sceptical market - where the design challenge was as much about trust and clarity as it was about aesthetics.
Gener8 flips the advertising model: instead of passively serving ads, it lets users opt in, earn from the ads they see, and take back control of their data. The product was real. The challenge was making it feel credible.
The process
One designer, one CEO, three months.
Working directly with the CEO over three months, I delivered the full design across the marketing website, browser extension UI, and companion app. My work covered wireframes and user flows, copy direction to make an unfamiliar proposition feel simple and trustworthy, a CRO-led website structure designed to turn curiosity into downloads, and extension and app UI from low fidelity through to final assets.
The design had one job: explain what Gener8 was, why it was different, and why users could trust it - without overwhelming them. Every decision traced back to that.
The outcome
The site generated over 200,000 user downloads, and seven months after launch Gener8 secured investment on Dragons' Den. The product now has over 120,000 daily active users.
